Celtic team vs Kilmarnock confirmed: Attacking surprise, global TV details, instant reaction

Manager Brendan Rodgers has named his Celtic team vs Kilmarnock for tonight’s Scottish Premiership encounter at Rugby Park.

The full match squad is as follows:

Starting XI – Hart, Johnston, Carter-Vickers, Scales, Taylor, McGregor, O’Riley, Hatate, Forrest, Maeda, Idah.

Substitutes – Bain, Palma, Kyogo, Kuhn, Nawrocki, Iwata, Bernardo, Ralston, Welsh.

Tonight’s the night that could seal a third successive title win for Celtic. The Bhoys only need one point against Derek McInnes’ team to confirm their status as champions.

A loss would mean it all rumbles on the last matchday at home to St Mirren. There’s a bit of work left to do and we must see the right performance this evening.

Rodgers has made just one change to the team that defeated Rangers over the weekend with Republic of Ireland international Adam Idah coming in for Kyogo Furuhashi.

Broadcast details

Tonight’s match is live on Sky Sports Football in the UK & Ireland.

Club streaming service Celtic TV will also provide coverage to worldwide subscribers outside of the region.

The fixture is on dozens of channels around the globe, too, including Paramount+ in the United States and beIN Sports in Australia. A full list of broadcasters can be found via LiveSoccerTV.

Instant verdict on Celtic team vs Kilmarnock

It’s a bit of a surprise to see Kyogo drop to the bench but Rodgers must see Idah’s more physical presence as a key way to get at the home side tonight on a difficult pitch.

The Norwich City loanee has seven goals for the Bhoys since joining in January so we know he can hit the back of the net if provided with the right opportunity.

Elsewhere the team pretty much picks itself right now. There’s undoubtedly enough talent in that eleven to get the job done tonight and become title winners. It’s all about attitude and execution.
