Piers Morgan reveals private conversation with David Moyes that'll offer Arsenal fans hope

Broadcaster and Arsenal fan Piers Morgan has now divulged details of a conversation he recently had with David Moyes.

Arsenal fans will be desperately willing West Ham United to pull of a shock positive result when they face Manchester City on Sunday.

The Gunners are heading into the final game of the season with a chance of still being crowned Premier League champions. However, in order to claim their first league title in twenty years, Arsenal need to beat Everton at the Emirates Stadium, and for Manchester City to fail to win their game against the Hammers.

This match will also be David Moyes’ last in charge of the East London club, as it has been confirmed that he will be stepping away from the role at the end of this season.

Mikel Arteta, who played under Moyes in his time on the books at Everton, will be hoping his former boss can sign off with a bang.

Of course, the odds are against the Irons. Pep Guardiola’s reigning champions have been in imperious form of late, and will be determined to confirm their fourth successive Premier League title triumph. The Cityzens know what it takes to get over the line, and that experience is likely to serve them well on Sunday.

There is still hope for Arsenal though, and Piers Morgan remains optimistic.

Morgan recently reaffirmed his belief that Arsenal will win the league, and has now opened up about an encounter he had with Moyes.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Moyes said: “I randomly bumped into David Moyes, who was heading into talkSPORT the other day. I bumped into him in a bar.

“I just got a sense that he wants to go out of West Ham with a bang. What better way can he go out than dismantling City in their own backyard and letting Arsenal win the league.

“Also, West Ham fans… what better way for you to say thank you to David Moyes but also for Declan Rice! The man who brought you European glory.”

Arsenal star Declan Rice now needs a favour from West Ham

It is hard to imagine many West Ham fans being desperate to see Declan Rice win the title. However, he certainly served the Hammers well in his long stint at the club, prior to making the switch to Arsenal in the recent summer transfer window.

In his final season at the London Stadium, Rice captained West Ham to glory in the Europa Conference League. The 25-year-old has been a hugely influential figure for the Gunners this season too.

Former Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew recently admitted that Rice would be his pick for the Premier League Player of the Season award.

If Arsenal are able to win the title this season, then Rice will have played a huge part in that triumph.
