Wolves injury update: Gary O'Neil provides exciting Pedro Neto news as another first-teamer picks up a knock

Gary O’Neil has provided an update on Wolves’ injury situation with Pedro Neto closing in on a return to the starting XI.

Wolves are finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel regarding their injury situation. Throughout 2024, O’Neil’s side has been hampered with players picking up knocks.

This has completely derailed the Molineux side’s season with the depth in Wolves’ first team not sufficient enough to handle the constant injuries causing players to be out for long periods of time.

In recent weeks, many of Wolves’ stars have been making their return to the pitch. Matheus Cunha and Hwang Hee-Chan are now back in the lineup after a long period out. One name fans are desperate to see returning to the teamsheet is Pedro Neto.

Now, it seems that Wolves’ Portuguese sensation is on his way back, with the Wolves manager confirming that he could be involved against Liverpool.

Injuries have once again been tough on Neto. After missing a large part of the early campaign, the winger was once again forced onto the sidelines.

Neto injured his hamstring against Fulham which has kept him out of the team since March.

O’Neil recently confirmed that Neto had returned to first-team training following his injury but is yet to return to the match-day squad. However, this looks likely to change for the final Premier League game of the season.

In his recent press conference, O’Neil confirmed that Neto will return to the squad after recovering well.

He said: “Pedro Neto will be in the squad. He’s trained well and feels good.”

From here, the Spaniard became an important part of O’Neil’s plans and shone at the mid-way point of the season.

However, for the final game, the Wolves manager has confirmed that the winger is a doubt for the tie. O’Neil stated that Sarabia has picked up a slight knock and it remains to be seen if he is in the side on Sunday.
