Liverpool & Man City 'interested' in move for in-form Newcastle forward

Liverpool and Manchester City are both keen on Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon, a report has revealed.

Gordon, a former Everton youngster, has enjoyed a sensational campaign which has seen him rack up 11 goals and ten assists in 35 Premier League games - a significant improvement on last year's four-goal haul.

The 23-year-old's form is likely to reward him with a call-up to the England squad for Euro 2024 this summer but The Athletic note Gordon has also caught the eye of both Liverpool and City.

The two Premier League heavyweights 'really like' Gordon but are not expected to take things any further at this point as Newcastle are prepared to demand an astronomical fee for the winger's services.

Gordon is entering the final two years of his contract and Newcastle have no desire to part ways this summer.

The report also provides some details on the uncertainty surrounding the future of Liverpool winger Luis Diaz, who has been heavily linked with Barcelona.

Barcelona are not expected to have the funds required to sign Diaz, whose contract still has three years left to run.

It is stressed that Liverpool are not looking to sell Diaz, but the fact that he is yet to agree to an extension on the contract he signed when he first joined in January 2022 does fuel speculation about his future.

Paris Saint-Germain have also been touted as potential suitors for Diaz as they look to start their new era without Kylian Mbappe.
