Former Georgia running back Andrew Paul has committed to join Jacksonville State via the NCAA Transfer Portal, per On3’s Pete Nakos. After spending two seasons at Georgia, Paul entered the portal on April 15, and now he finds a new home with the Gamecocks.

Paul redshirted his true freshman season after suffering a knee injury in the preseason. However, in the 2023 campaign, Paul made seven appearances as a reserve RB. In his limited time on the field, Paul tallied 129 rushing yards and a touchdown on 29 carries.

Andrew Paul played high school football at Parish Episcopal School (TX), where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 432 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Kirby Smart & Kendall Milton rave about Andrew Paul

Prior to him entering the transfer portal, Andrew Paul was spoken highly of by coach Kirby Smart, as well as teammate Kendall Milton.

“He’s really improved tremendously at his pass pro, picking people up. He’s thick, he’s heavy. We’ve got some guys that we feel like are different than him in terms of weapons,” Georgia head coach Kirby Smart said about Paul last season. “We feel like Andrew has done a good job and continues to improve.”

Smart wasn’t the only one who spoke highly of Paul, as his fellow running back had tremendous things to say about him.

“Being with Andrew since he came in, first thing I was super happy just to be able to see him playing because last camp was when everything kind of went downhill and then he started coming back up and seeing him put the work in. With the ACL, it’s not the easiest to come back from because there’s a lot of things in the back of your head. But he’s been pushing every single day,” Kendall Milton said.

“His development has just went through the roof. Every day he continues to work hard, continues to get better. Like I said, he asked me and Daijun what can he do better on certain plays ’cause he’s just one of those people that he’s always striving to be great or always trying to find that little niche to take his game to the next level.”
