Ole Miss rounded out the top 20 of the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings last cycle. With the summer approaching, the Rebels are looking to level up on the recruiting trail for their 2025 class.

Lane Kiffin and Co. have built a solid foundation, as Ole Miss currently checks in with the No. 18 class in the nation and No. 9 class in the SEC, as of May 17.

A total of eight prospects currently make up the class, headlined by an in-state five-star.

Ole Miss Class Breakdown

The class didn’t feature a prospect until February, but a major addition came in March in the form of Quitman (Miss.) five-star running back Akylin Dear. He chose the Rebels over Auburn, Alabama and others and is the No. 2 player in the Magnolia State.

Five recruits pledged in April, including Horn Lake (Miss.) Lake Cormorant four-star linebacker Jarcoby Hopson, a top-200 recruit and top-20 player at his position. West Jordan (Utah) Corner Canyon four-star wide receiver Jerome Myles, Gautier (Miss.) Saraland four-star WR Dillon Alfred, Daphne (Ala.) three-star EDGE Talib Graham and Buford (Ga.) three-star tight end Hayden Bradley also joined the fold last month.

Opelousas (La.) three-star EDGE Corey Amos was the first commit in the class, as he pledged on Feb. 3. He and Tupelo (Miss.) three-star cornerback Maison Dunn round out the pledge list.

Top Offensive Commit: RB Akylin Dear

The 6-foot, 200-pound Dear was being pursued heavily by multiple other programs in the SEC, but opted to stay home and feature atop Ole Miss’ 2025 class. He ranks No. 29 overall and No. 2 at the tailback position.

Dear told On3 this upon making his commitment public:

“I’ve been feeling like Ole Miss is home. And I’m ready now … It was a difficult [decision] because there was a lot of places to go play at. But I’m from Mississippi, ya know? It’s great to be staying home. Ain’t anything better than the ‘Sip.”

Top Defensive Commit: LB Jarcoby Hopson

The 6-foot-1.5, 205-pound Hopson announced his splash commitment to the Rebels on April 22. His brother, Janorris, signed with the program last cycle. Jarcoby is the No. 170 overall recruit, No. 20 LB and No. 7 player in Mississippi in the cycle.

“I like Ole Miss, I like the coaches and I am high on them. The energy there is great, the staff really recruits me hard and they hit me up almost every day,” Hopson told On3’s Chad Simmons in March. “(Safeties) coach (Wes) Neighbors and (defensive coordinator/linebackers) coach (Pete) Golding are always recruiting me. They want me to come be that hybrid linebacker for them. When I am there, the vibe is good and I just feel the love from Ole Miss.”
