The five Arsenal players who could bid final farewell to the Emirates after Everton clash

Five Arsenal players could well leave the club permanently following the Gunners’ clash with Everton on Sunday.

Arsenal will play their final game of the season against Everton at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

This is a must-win game for Mikel Arteta’s side. The Gunners need to claim all three points in order to stand any chance of being crowned champions.

Not only must Arsenal win, but they also need Manchester City to drop points against West Ham United. Arsenal can only win the league if events at the Etihad Stadium unfold in their favour.

Whilst there may yet be scenes of triumph and celebration in North London on Sunday, there are also certain to be farewells. The upcoming summer transfer window is destined to be a busy one for the Gunners, and a number of players will leave the club.

Mohamed Elneny

Midfield veteran Mohamed Elneny is certain to leave Arsenal at the end of this season as a free agent. His current contract is due to expire, and the Egyptian will not be offered a new deal.

Having been on the books at the club since 2016, the 31-year-old has been an excellent servant to Arsenal and has enjoyed some real highs over the course of his 161 appearances. He has been a bit-part figure under Arteta for some time though and the time is right for him to move on.

Cedric Soares

Like Elneny, Cedric Soares will leave Arsenal as a free agent. The Portuguese right-back has scarcely played for the Gunners for the last two seasons and no longer has anything to offer on the pitch in Arteta’s plans.

Aaron Ramsdale

Arsenal are aware that Aaron Ramsdale is almost certain to depart this summer. The goalkeeper lost his starting berth to David Raya early on in the current campaign and was never able to reclaim the No. 1 spot.

Whilst he is a popular figure at the Emirates Stadium, Ramsdale now needs to move on for the sake of his own career.

Eddie Nketiah

Eddie Nketiah has tumbled down the Arsenal pecking order since the turn of the year. The Hale End academy graduate played regularly in the first half of the season, and even bagged his maiden Premier League hat-trick against Sheffield United.

The striker has since suffered a loss of form though and has rarely been called upon in recent months. Crystal Palace have shown an interest in Nketiah, and he needs to be playing regular football at this stage in his career.

Reiss Nelson

Just as with Nketiah, Arteta seems to have lost faith in Reiss Nelson. The 24-year-old winger signed a new long-term contract last summer, but has only been afforded one Premier League start all season.

Nelson will now consider approaches from potential suitors and needs to leave Arsenal to get his career back on track.
