Celtic Predicted XI vs St Mirren as Brendan Rodgers makes 2 changes for title party

There’s no pressure on Celtic’s shoulders on Saturday as the Bhoys face off at home to St Mirren in the final Scottish Premiership match of the season.

With the title wrapped up on Wednesday night, today is all about celebrating the trophy lift and the achievements of these players this term.

However, Brendan Rodgers will want to maintain positive momentum on the pitch considering there’s still a massive Scottish Cup Final against Rangers to come next Saturday.

There are two schools of thought on team selection as a result – resting all of your key players, or ensuring there’s no drop-off by keeping them in the side and in the zone.

What team will Rodgers go with today? Here’s our go at the eleven.

Potential Celtic team vs St Mirren

Joe Hart will play his final ever game at Celtic Park in goal. He gave a superb emotional interview on Friday and is sure to get a massive ovation at various points today.

There’s no reason to change up a settled defence with all of them fit and healthy. Cameron Carter-Vickers and Liam Scales will be the pairing in next week’s final so they’ll build on their partnership today.

Greg Taylor and Alistair Johnston remain the prime picks on the flanks, though we may see Anthony Ralston get some minutes in the second half.

Callum McGregor, Matt O’Riley and Reo Hatate have been in superb form of late, creating and scoring goals. It’ll be an indicator of how Rodgers views this game if they are all in the lineup. If all three start it will be clear that the manager wants to thump the Buddies like Kilmarnock mid-week.

In attack, we may well see Nicolas Kuhn returning to the line-up in place of James Forrest. As good as Forrest has been of late, it might be too much of an ask for him to play three games in one week and he will benefit from being kept fresh for Hampden.

The ever-energetic Daizen Maeda will keep things intense on the left flank.

Adam Idah was excellent against Killie to push the Bhoys over the title line but Saturday can be a warmup for Kyogo Furuhashi, as the Japanese is almost guaranteed to be a big game performer in the derby.

Your Predicted XI in full is: Hart, Johnston, Carter-Vickers, Scales, McGregor, O’Riley, Hatate, Kuhn, Maeda, Kyogo.
