Every club record Oliver Glasner has already broken at Crystal Palace

It goes without saying that Oliver Glasner has made a seismic impact at Crystal Palace ever since replacing Roy Hodgson.

The Austrian could even secure Crystal Palace just a second top-ten Premier League finish if results go our way on Sunday, which speaks volumes when you consider we were relegation candidates at the time of his arrival.

In just 12 games under Oliver Glasner, a lot of history has already been made at Crystal Palace – let’s take a closer look at what exactly has been achieved…

Oliver Glasner quickly making Crystal Palace history

Talk about making a good first impression.

Under Glasner’s guidance, Crystal Palace fans have witnessed a few things that have never happened before in the club’s entire Premier League history.

Perhaps the most impressive feat of all came during our 5-2 win over West Ham at Selhurst Park, an enthralling match which saw us leading 4-0 after just 31 minutes.

It was – in fact – the first time that any Crystal Palace side throughout history had scored four goals in the first half of a Premier League game.

Including the above, you can see every single club record broken by Glasner at Crystal Palace so far.

  • Scored four goals in first half of a Premier League game for the first time
  • First ever Premier League double over Manchester United
  • Most goals scored in a single Premier League campaign (52)
  • First Crystal Palace player to score in six successive Premier League games at Selhurst Park (Jean-Philippe Mateta)

In regards to that final bullet point, only Alan Shearer has previously scored in a new manager’s first six Premier League games at home in the Premier League era, so it is quite the accomplishment.

Another club record could be broken on Sunday

If Ebere Eze scores against Aston Villa on Sunday, yet another club record would be broken under Glasner.

Never before has any Crystal Palace side seen three players all hit double figures for goals in a single Premier League season.

However, if Eze – currently on nine goals – nets a tenth Premier League strike of the campaign this Sunday, he will join Michael Olise (10) and Mateta (13) in reaching double figures.

If this is what Glasner is capable of achieving in just a few months, the 2024/25 campaign could well turn out to be one of the very best in Crystal Palace’s entire history.
