'What a player': Gabriel Jesus applauds player Arsenal sold for £21.4m after his final league game this season

Gabriel Jesus has lauded one player Arsenal sold last summer on Instagram after the end of his first league season since leaving the Emirates.

It has been an outstanding season for the Gunners, with Mikel Arteta‘s men still having an outside chance of winning the Premier League title on the final day of the campaign.

It does however, appear that Arsenal are going to just come up a fraction short, with Manchester City surely heavy favourites to pick up the win which will see them win their fourth league title on the spin.

One player who has definitely won a league title this season is Granit Xhaka, with the Swiss playing a key role in Bayer Leverkusen’s miraculous campaign, with Xabi Alonso’s men winning 28 and drawing six of their 34 league games.

What is even more remarkable is that Leverkusen are two wins away from completing a treble in which they have not lost a single game.

Xhaka could bring up a half-century for appearances by the time the campaign concludes, making him an inspired signing at £21.4 million.

Arsenal eyeing £100 million midfielder this summer

Arsenal have not exactly been forced to rue the decision to sell Xhaka, with Mikel Arteta’s midfield enjoying an outstanding campaign.

Declan Rice has been superb alongside Jorginho, while Thomas Partey has impressed since returning to the side in recent weeks.

But it does appear that Arsenal are looking to take their midfield to that next level next season – should the right player become available.

TBR Football recently reported that Arsenal are ready to make a move for Bruno Guimaraes if he indicates that he wants to leave Newcastle. The Brazilian has a £100 million release clause in his deal at St James’ Park.

Bruno would be the kind of signing who would seriously excite the Arsenal fans, as the Gunners look to follow in Xhaka’s footsteps by getting their hands on the league title.
