Superb drone footage emerges of Celtic fans' Trophy Day celebrations in Glasgow

Yesterday’s title celebrations at Celtic Park really were special.

It was also as emotional as I’ve seen the players, the fans and the Celtic manager as I’ve seen in a long time supporting the club.

For Brendan Rodgers, yesterday capped off a season where the Celtic boss had to put up with a narrative about him and his players and he answered those critics the best way he could by winning the title.

For the players, it was emotional for two reasons. The elation of being crowned champions was mixed with the sadness of saying goodbye to Joe Hart.

The veteran goalkeeper is hanging up his gloves and the send-off he got from the Celtic fans was just incredible.

And finally, for the Celtic support, just seeing the team crowned the best in Scotland once again was enough to trigger a party at Parkhead that then carried on long after the gates of the stadium closed.

There will have been many media outlets sharing their photographs and videos of the celebrations inside the stadium and in Glasgow.

But this incredible drone footage just shows the scales of the celebrations as the Celtic fans descended into the city centre.

These scenes were reminiscent of last season’s celebrations after Ange Postcoglou wrapped up his second title on the way to an incredible treble.

That treble win also sparked further celebrations despite the former Celtic manager heading to Spurs just days later.

With the Scottish Cup final now less than a week away, the Celtic fans will be hoping that their team can do the double and lift the cup against our biggest rivals.

And what a send-off that will be for the departing Joe Hart. If the veteran ‘keeper thinks those celebrations at Celtic Park were special, just wait till he sees what a Scottish Cup final win against our closest rivals will bring.
