Pep Guardiola now shares whether he will stay at Manchester City next season

Pep Guardiola was quizzed about whether he will remain as Manchester City boss next season.

Pep Guardiola’s contract at City runs out in 2025, which perhaps automatically answers the question.

But considering the £378,846-a-week man has won it all at the Etihad Stadium, one might assume that he could leave on a high at the end of the season.

Guardiola reveals if he will be Manchester City boss next season

The Catalan has the chance to win the first manager to first four league titles in a row in English football while also winning the double if he wins the FA Cup.

Much like Jurgen Klopp, whose deal at Liverpool was set to expire in 2026 before he announced his exit, some might wonder whether if the former Barcelona boss would do the same.

Ahead of Manchester City’s upcoming clash against West Ham, Pep Guardiola confirmed that he is staying at the club next season.

Guardiola said via HaytersTV: “Yeah, I have a contract. I want to be here next season, yes.”

In an interview with Sky Sports, Pep Guardiola was asked whether he plans to renew his contract at Manchester City beyond 2025.

“We have time for that. We spoke already with the chairman and yeah, we have time, so we have to see the players, we have time. It’s not [that] I finish in two weeks, you know. We have time.”

It would have been a shock if Guardiola left at the end of the season

There was no indication that Pep Guardiola would depart Manchester City at the end of the season.

In December, it was reported that the Spaniard could leave City at the end of his contract next year.

But with how strong Guardiola’s bond is with the club, the supporters and the board, it is no surprise that he will fulfil his current contract at the very least.

The decorated manager’s full focus must be on Manchester City beating West Ham on Sunday rather than his plans for the future.

Additionally, Pep Guardiola will also have his sights set on his side defeating Manchester United in the FA Cup final.
