Arsenal learn 'finalised' price tag of 'spectacular' 18-goal striker Arteta has targeted

Arsenal have now been made aware of what the asking price will be this summer for one striker transfer target.

Arsenal are in the market for a new striker.

Whilst Kai Havertz has led the line impressively for the Gunners in recent months, Mikel Arteta’s side lack a truly clinical presence at the top of the pitch.

Gabriel Jesus has endured a difficult season in front of goal. The Brazilian has netted just four times in the Premier League this season, and injury issues continue to hamper him. Arsenal are now open to offers on Jesus.

On top of that, Eddie Nketiah is also likely to leave Arsenal this summer. The Hale End academy graduate has tumbled down the pecking order at the Emirates Stadium since the turn of the year. Arteta seems to have lost faith in the forward, who now needs to move on to get his career back on track elsewhere.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have been linked with a host of strikers. One such goalscorer who Arteta is apparently keen to bring to North London is Benjamin Sesko.

The Slovenian star has been in fine form for German outfit RB Leipzig this season. The 20-year-old has bagged 18 goals in 42 appearances across all competitions.

How much Arsenal would have to pay for Benjamin Sesko

Sesko has been described as a “spectacular” striker and has vast potential. He is still very young, and almost certainly has his best years ahead of him. At 6’5” he is a real physical presence, and a dangerous aerial threat, but he also boasts pace and superb technical ability. He is an instinctive finisher and can hold up the ball, bringing others into play.

There are still rough edges to Sesko’s game, but his talent is abundant, and that is reflected in his price tag.

As reported by journalist Philipp Hinze on X, following the end of the Bundesliga season, Sesko’s release clause, based on his performance this season, has now been “finalised” at €65 million – roughly equivalent to £56 million.

Will Mikel Arteta take a risk on Benjamin Sesko?

Sesko would be an exciting addition to Arteta’s squad. He could come in and compete with Havertz for regular game time, and is well-suited to replicating the German’s style of play, meaning that he ought slot in seamlessly with the Gunners’ tactical approach.

However, with investments also needed in other parts of the pitch, it remains to be seen if Arsenal would be willing to part with such a figure for a 20-year-old player with no previous Premier League experience.
