What Tata Martino thinks Inter Miami 'super-talent' is missing from his game

Tata Martino has detailed what an Inter Miami wonderkid is currently missing from his game after last night’s win against DC United.

The Florida franchise returned to winning ways with a 1-0 win at Chase Stadium, with Leonardo Campana’s late goal securing the three points for Inter Miami to solidify their spot at the top of the Supporters’ Shield standings.

With Martino’s side proving they can win without over-relying on Lionel Messi, last night’s win was a statement result for the Herons, who also had to turn to a non-superstar name to win the fixture.

Yet one promising Inter Miami prospect was signaled out after the match.

Martino hints that Benjamin Cremaschi needs to flesh out his skillset

Speaking to the press after the match, Martino detailed why Benjamin Cremaschi was the midfielder who came off for Robert Taylor in the second-half, with the Inter Miami manager saying Julian Gressel and Matias Rojas offered more to win the game.

At 19-years-old, Cremaschi has a long way to go before the midfielder is at the top of his game, yet the youngster is at the right club to learn key skills that will go far in his journey to becoming one of the best in MLS.

Martino said when asked why Cremaschi was pulled off against DC United: “Robert came on so we could have another player who gave us depth down the left side, so which midfielder do we bring off?

“Julian gives us more balance and Matias’ ability to hit the ball is useful, especially in a game where we might need to score from a distance. It’s something Benja does not have yet, in that sense, and we decided it would be best for him to come off in this situation.”

Cremaschi can learn more at Inter Miami than at any other MLS team

Lauded by Kieran Gibbs as a ‘super-talent’, Cremaschi’s rise in the last 12 months has been no real surprise given the talent Inter Miami have on their books, and the Herons are proving to be the perfect training ground for the midfielder.

The USA international has exploded onto the scene and established himself as one of the most exciting talents in MLS, and Cremaschi could not be at a more perfect team to hone his craft and to expand his skillset.

Indeed, Cremaschi is still at the start of his career, and early signs have been very encouraging for what the midfielder could do in the years to come if his development continues.
