William Saliba predicts that £38m star will take over at Arsenal next season

William Saliba has now tipped one Arsenal player to make a huge impact when club football returns to north London next season.

Mikel Arteta and Edu Gaspar will already be working diligently to improve their playing staff and it seems as if a new striker is on the cards.

Kai Havertz has been thriving in a false nine role since the turn of the year but Arsenal would seem well advised to add to their options.

Gabriel Jesus’ position seems slightly precarious right now, he suddenly doesn’t feel particularly well suited to a central or wide role in the front three.

But a player like Alexander Isak or Brian Bobbey for example could actually help the Brazilian, lessening some of the goal-scoring burden.

That being said, there’s still a lot more to come from several players in this current Arsenal squad too.

Emile Smith Rowe continues to show glimpses of what he’s capable of, and will hopefully receive better playing chances next season.

Similarly, Takehiro Tomiyasu seems primed for a bigger role if he can avoid further injuries.

William Saliba tells Arsenal star Jurrien Timber that next season will be his

Whilst the names mentioned above could all be even more effective next season, it’s Jurrien Timber who William Saliba is now tipping for stardom.

The £38m-defender had the unfortunate pleasure of being just the fifth player to make only two Premier League appearances in a season on just the opening and final match day yesterday.

But with his injury behind him, Timber will just be looking forward to a summer of preparation to show his true worth next campaign.

And with that in mind, Timber has just written a message to his Arsenal teammates and fans on his Instagram.

Uploading several pictures from the win over Everton, Timber wrote: “Felt great to play in front of the fans again after 9 months.

“Compliments to the team for the great performance, it was a joy watching you throughout the season.

“Till next year gooners.”

William Saliba was among the first to reply, saying “Next season is yours” – a player clearly excited to play alongside the Dutchman.

As we saw briefly at the Emirates yesterday, Timber will add a new dimension to this Arsenal defence and team, and Arteta is probably still ruing his unavailability this campaign.

All that being said, there was also a nice moment for Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard yesterday who repeated his own personal record amid the disappointment of not lifting the title.
