'I'm going to go': Jack Wilshere now shares who is better - Pep Guardiola or Arsene Wenger

Jack Wilshere has now revealed who he thinks is the better manager: Pep Guardiola or Arsene Wenger.

Wenger famously gave the retired midfielder his breakthrough at Arsenal.

Wilshere says Wenger is better than Guardiola

In an interview with Sky Sports, Jack Wilshere claimed Arsene Wenger is the greatest manager in the history of football.

“I think, him [Arsene Wenger].”

Jack Wilshere went on to claim that Arsene Wenger is superior to not just Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola but also Sir Alex Ferguson.

“I think so because Sir Alex [Ferguson] and what Pep’s [Guardiola] done at the minute, he’s changed the game and everyone’s sort of jumping on it and following and he is amazing.”

“But no one has yet to go invincible. Obviously, in Germany, they’ve done it and credit to [Xabi] Alonso because it’s amazing but to do it in the Premier League, not to lose a game.”

Wilshere continued to praise Wenger for leading Arsenal to their legendary “Invincibles” season in the 2003/2004 campaign.

“I’ve heard Thierry [Henry] talk about the time that it was happening and how there were days where as a player, you always have them where one of your teammates might not be having a good game and you have to try and somehow bring them with you and he said they were the best at that and that for me is credit to the manager.”

“The environment, the culture he created and I got to experience it at the end but yeah, I’m going to go [Arsene Wenger].”

The rationale used to state Wenger is better than Guardiola is absurd

In our view, the reason Jack Wilshere has used to state that Arsene Wenger is a better manager than Pep Guardiola is absurd.

Just like Guardiola is yet to have an unbeaten league season in his career, Wenger did not win the Champions League.

Meanwhile, the £378,000-a-week manager has three in his managerial career and that too at two different clubs, unlike Arsene Wenger.

While Pep Guardiola has won back-to-back leagues on two different occasions — 2018 and 2019 while also recently winning four titles in a row, Arsene Wenger did not do so even once at Arsenal.

Despite having one of the best teams English football has ever seen, with legends like Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp and David Seaman being at his disposal.

The rationale Jack Wilshere has presented does not quite add up as by his logic, Pep Guardiola has plenty of accolades Arsene Wenger does not; making him the greatest manager.
