Copa America: All previous winners in the tournament's history

By Amanda Langell

After 47 editions of the Copa America, only eight different nations have won the tournament.

Ever since the first Copa America unfolded in 1916, South American soccer players have competed in the historic tournament with the goal of bringing the coveted title home to their country. Some players work their entire careers to lift an international trophy, especially as new superstars continue to emerge on the global stage.

Of the 10 participating CONMEBOL teams, Argentina and Uruguay have the most Copa America wins, each with 15. Brazil is not far behind with 9 wins. Most recently, Argentina won the tournament in 2021, led by Lionel Messi and Ángel Di María.

Despite Argentina, Uruguay, and Brazil's domination of the Copa America, the competition's storied past includes other notable winners as well.
