Former Mississippi State wide receiver Justin Robinson committed to West Virginia, he announced on Twitter.
Originally starting his career at Georgia, Robinson left after two seasons with the program to join Mississippi State. After not playing in 2020, he appeared in eight games for UGA the next season.
Once he joined Mississippi State, his production went up. In 31 career games over the last three seasons, Robinson has 53 catches for 601 yards, four touchdowns and 11.3 yards per catch.
As a member of the Class of 2020, Robinson was a four-star recruit out of McDonough (Ga.) Eagle’s Landing Christian, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 37 overall prospect in the state, the No. 69 wide receiver in the class and the No. 360 overall prospect in the class.

Justin Robinson leaves Mississippi State
With Robinson out of the picture, head coach Jeff Lebby noted earlier this spring that the Bulldogs aren’t where they’re going to be just yet.
Lebby is a coach known for his offensive system. It’s an offense that has been influenced under by coaches like Art Briles, Josh Heupel, and Lane Kiffin. However, Lebby also knows that it’s not an offense that can be learned overnight, and he explained there’s still plenty to work on following Mississippi State’s spring game.
“Again, I like where we’re at,” Lebby said. “I think it’s going to be completely different come fall. Just from the standpoint of understanding. I love that we got to live a bunch of game situations whether it was today or earlier in the three scrimmages we had in the spring, and our guys understand what this thing needs to look like.”
For the past two seasons, Jeff Lebby was the offensive coordinator at Oklahoma. In 2023, the Sooners had the fourth-ranked scoring offense in college football, averaging 41.7 points per game. Oklahoma was also third in total offense, with 507 yards per game.
“We are nowhere close to where we are going to be. Again, we’ve got guys that have played a lot of ball, maybe not here, but all over the country that are going to play a lot of ball for us next year and I like that about our unit on offense.”
