Barcelona superstar now has transfer offer on the table after Inter Miami links

A Barcelona superstar reportedly has a transfer off on the table after recent links to Inter Miami heading into the summer.

The transfer window opens for business next month, with the Herons expected to be busy as Inter Miami plan to add to their roster to get their MLS playoff bid over the line with Lionel Messi and company.

Given the stature of the Florida franchise, high-profile names have been linked with Inter Miami in recent weeks, namely Sevilla defender Sergio Ramos, who is expected to become a free agent this summer.

Barcelona captain and Inter Miami target Sergi Roberto has offer on the table

According to journalist Helena Condis, Barcelona star and captain Sergi Roberto has an offer on the table from another club, with the La Liga giants working on trying to extend the defender’s contract.

Condis wrote: “Roberto’s agent is waiting to meet with Deco this week. The agreement is verbal but nothing is signed. Barcelona asks for patience, but it will end in June. There is have an alternative offer from another club in case there are registration problems.”

Linked with a move to Inter Miami, there’s a chance that this apparent offer on the table from Roberto could be from the Herons, who have been rumored with the Spanish international for some time.

Indeed, with Inter Miami potentially in the market for a versatile fullback who can play in midfield, Roberto would be an ideal signing, yet it’s clear that there are bigger concerns in the squad for the Herons.

Inter Miami must focus on signing a new defender this summer

With news breaking this week that Nicolas Freire will miss the rest of the season, Inter Miami simply have to focus on signing a new central defender when the summer window opens.

Although Roberto would be a neat signing, the current status of the squad means Inter Miami have to prioritize a move for a center-back, a move that could save their season.

With the Barcelona captain’s future still up in the air, waiting for an official confirmation on what Roberto is doing this summer could also benefit Inter Miami, who would not want to waste time chasing the fullback for nothing.
