Cole Palmer and Mykhailo Mudryk both react as Chelsea confirm manager exit

Cole Palmer and Mykhailo Mudryk have both posted messages reacting to Tuesday’s news that Mauricio Pochettino has left Chelsea after just one season in charge.

Chelsea announced yesterday evening that the club and Mauricio Pochettino have mutually agreed to part ways.

In addition, the backroom staff of Jesus Perez, Miguel d’Agostino, Toni Jimenez and Sebastiano Pochettino have left Stamford Bridge.

Pochettino, 52, has walked away from the Blues following just one season in the dugout. He does leave after finishing sixth in the Premier League and ensuring there’s European football back at the Bridge next campaign.

Cole Palmer and Mykhailo Mudryk react to manager exit

Cole Palmer, who’s had a year to remember under Pochettino’s guidance, sounds understandably gutted with news about the manager’s end-of-season departure.

Chelsea and England star Palmer wrote a heartfelt Instagram post about Pochettino shortly after his exit was confirmed:

Meanwhile, Blues winger Mykhailo Mudryk also spoke out on social media to thank his coach for this season.

Mudryk wrote on his Instagram story alongside a picture of him and Pochettino: “Thank you for everything.”

The next manager must build around Cole Palmer

One of the biggest disappointments of Pochettino’s departure is the impact it could have on the players. In particular, how will Palmer cope under new management next season?

The Chelsea Chronicle is confident that attacking playmaker Palmer has the quality and intelligence to thrive in most systems. He was producing quite extraordinary things under Pochettino, though.

Palmer was included in yesterday’s England squad after 25 goals and 15 assists in 45 games for Pochettino’s Chelsea.

Any new manager that walks through the doors at Chelsea should lick his lips that he’s got a player like him in the squad.

Whether it’s as a right-winger or No 10, the 22-year-old has to be a main part of the vision moving forward.
