Christina Wells, a single mom with two boys, performed on America’s Got Talent to prove to fulfill her life long dream.

When she was 19, the Houston native and registered nurse, dreamed of being a singer and even made it to the final round of auditions. However, her dreams were cut short when the judges told her she “wasn’t the right size”.

Simon Cowell then asked why she decided to join the competition this year, and she explained that she wanted to fulfill her dream and show her sons that “nothing should prevent you from making your dreams come true.”

Wells then went on to perform “I Know Where I’ve Been” from the musical Hairspray, and she absolutely killed her performance and blew the judges away.

Cowell told her that it is contestants like her that remind him why he started this show. He has “worked with so many stupid people in the music business, genuinely, who actually think someone’s gonna buy a song because of somebody’s weight.”

“You blew the cork off and exploded with what you’ve been waiting to do your whole life. We felt that energy, and we felt your soul,” Howie Mandelsaid after her performance.

Mel B also praised her talents and told her, “Don’t ever let anybody’s comments stop you from being you because you are beautiful and what a voice.”

Heidi Klum told Wells that she wishes she “could just do half of what [she] can do”.
