Fine dining Scandinavian restaurant coming to Singapore

Singapore is getting a new fine dining Scandinavian restaurant from the chef of Sweden's first and only triple Michelin-starred restaurant.

Set to open this fall, Zen will open in the space vacated by Restaurant Andre, which for eight years had been one of the hottest dining destinations in the city-state.

As reported by Michelin Singapore, chef Bjorn Frantzen is poised to open Zen this fall, bringing gourmet, Nordic cuisine to Singapore's already buzzing gastronomic landscape.

If his Stockholm restaurant Frantzen is anything to go by, Zen will highlight Nordic ingredients, with French and Japanese flourishes.

Though details are sparse, the landing page indicates that the restaurant will serve a fixed dinner menu.

"The gastronomy of Frantzén is influenced by the simplicity and elegance of Nordic, French and Japanese cuisine, so to be able to open this restaurant in Singapore that is such a cultural and gastronomic melting pot is an incredible and exciting opportunity," Frantzen wrote on an Instagram post announcing the news.⠀

Zen will join a handful of other Scandinavian eateries in Singapore, including Fisk Seafood Bar & Market and Fika Swedish Cuisine and Bistro.

It will also mark Frantzen's third international restaurant after Frantzen's Kitchen and the Flying Elk, both in Hong Kong.

Zen opens Nov. 21.
