An Eastern Conference showdown between the Pacers (7-4) and76ers (6-5) Wednesday night at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, Indiana.

Pacers Host 76ers on wednesday

The Indiana Pacers (7-4) will host a Philadelphia 76ers (6-5) team that is undefeated at home (6-0) but winless on the road (0-5).

This will be the first of four games between these two Eastern Conference playoff contenders this season.

The Pacers are ranked third in Eastern Conference while the 76ers trail in fifth place.

A win or loss in tonight’s matchup could either propel the Pacers to second place over the Milwaukee Bucks (8-2) or the 76ers to fourth place over the Boston Celtics (6-4).

The Pacers poured up a strong defensive effort in Monday night’s 98-94 loss to the Rockets but just couldn’t generate enough on offense.

Victor Oladipo led Indiana with 28 points and six rebounds. Domantas Sabonis (17 points, eight rebounds), Tyreke Evans (11 points) and Bojan Bogdanovic (11 points, two steals) also contributed.

“We’ll just spend even more time on it tomorrow,” said Pacers coach Nate McMillan after his team went 20-of-30 from the line. “We want to be the aggressors and get to the free throw line, and we leave 10 free throws out there tonight.”

After winning four of their last six games, the 76ers fell to the Brooklyn Nets 122-97 Sunday night at the Barclays Center.

The Sixers hit just four of 16 three-pointers on the night. Ben Simmons logged 20 points and 12 rebounds, while Joel Embiid tallied 16 points and 15 rebounds. Embiid has been off to an increadble start this season, averaging over 28 points and closing in on 13 rebounds per game.

The 76ers gave up a season-high 27 turnovers (the most by a Nets opponent since the 2013-14 season), with Simmons, Embiid, and Robert Covington combining for 15 of them.

Turnovers played a big role in the Pacers’ success against the Sixers in the 2017-2018 season. Last year, Indiana was able to recover the ball 18 times in each of the first two games and 21 times in the final game. Indiana racked up 29 points off those turnovers in the third game, which helped them beat a hot Philly team despite Oladipo scoring just 11 points on 21 shots.

The game will air on ESPN, NSPA, FSIN at 8:00 p.m. EST in Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indiana.
