George Conway Calls Trump Administration “A S–tshow In A Dumpster Fire”

George Conway slams Donald Trump on Twitter

George Conway, husband of President Donald Trump’s chief adviser Kellyanne Conway, called the administration “a s–tshow in a dumpster fire” during a Yahoo News interview on Friday.

Conway, who has been a vocal Trump critic for over a year now, appeared on the Yahoo News podcast Skullduggery, and spoke about his relationship with his wife, the administration, and his 2017 refusal of a position in the Department of Justice.

In mid-2017, Conway was in consideration by President Trump and then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions to take up the role of the chief of the civil division of the DOJ.

The DOJ civil division chief is responsible for, among other things, defending the administration against lawsuits.

“The administration is like a s–tshow in a dumpster fire,” Conway said, speaking about his reasons for ultimately pulling out of contention for the position.

He went on to mention that the accusations of obstruction of justice and possible collusion with Russia surrounding the Trump administration played a large part in shaping his opinion of the current president.

“You got the Comey firing, and then you got [Trump] going on TV saying, ‘I had Russia on my mind,’ and it’s like, ‘Oh, no,'” Conway told the host of Skullduggery. “And then I’m driving home one day from New York, and it’s like ‘Robert Mueller appointed special counsel,’ and then I realized, this guy is going to be at war with the Justice Department.”

Conway went on to say that Trump has changed the Republican Party into a “personality cult,” and that the change in the Party’s nature made him no longer “feel comfortable being a Republican.”

When speaking about his wife’s opinion of his public criticisms of the administration, Conway said, “I don’t think she likes it… but, I’ve told her, I don’t like the administration, so it’s even.”

Regardless of his own personal distaste for President Trump, Conway lauded his wife’s “amazing” work in getting him elected.

“[Kellyanne] basically got this guy elected. She steadied that boat,” he said.
