Not sure where to wine and dine your loved this Valentine's Day? For couples and budding couples alike, here are some of the restaurants deemed most romantic in the US and Canada by TripAdvisor and OpenTable respectively.
For Canadian lovebirds, online restaurant reservation site OpenTable released a list of the 100 Most Romantic Restaurants in Canada, based on 500,000 reviews submitted by diners for more than 2,500 restaurants.
The list features restaurants from 50 cities, with the province of Ontario leading the charts at 39 establishments, followed by Alberta (21) and British Columbia (14).
Restaurants for which the category "romantic" was selected as a special feature were then scored and sorted. The list is not ranked but published in alphabetical order. Some of the most romantic restaurants in the country's biggest city, Toronto, include longstanding favorites like Scaramouche and Auberge du Pommier.
For the first time, TripAdvisor also released a list of the most romantic restaurants in the US this year. Rankings are likewise derived from the quality, quantity and timeliness of reviews combined with the degree to which the property was deemed romantic.
The ranking of the top 25 most romantic restaurants in the US spans the country, but the Charleston Grill in Charleston, South Carolina, with specialties like crab crake, foie gras and rack of lamb, takes the top spot.
