Luxury liner to bring Elizabeth Taylor auction items to high seas

Cruisers embarking on a transatlantic crossing aboard the Queen May 2 this fall will get a special preview of Elizabeth Taylor items up for auction.

Celebrity auction house Julien's Auctions has partnered with luxury cruise line Cunard to bring some of Taylor's iconic film costumes, accessories and haute couture ensembles to the high seas this fall.

The exhibit "Lifestyle of Elizabeth Taylor Collection" will be on rotating display throughout the sea voyage, and include items like a beaded Versace leather biker jacket worn during her appearance on "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson"; a blue chiffon Edith Head evening gown worn at the premiere of her 1974 film "That's Entertainment"; and a Givenchy emerald green silk pantsuit worn at a 1987 AIDS fundraiser.

Cruisers will also be able to place bids on items ahead of the general auction scheduled to take place December 6-8 at The Standard Oil Building in Beverly Hills, California and online at juliensauctions.com.

The exhibit will be aboard Cunard's flagship liner the Queen Mary 2, departing on a transatlantic crossing from Southampton October 18.
