Tokyo shares tumbled Monday, with the Nikkei ending at its lowest level in two months after briefly extending losses over 2 percent amid concern over U.S.-China trade tensions and a deep sell-off across Asian markets.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average ended down 366.87 points, or 1.74 percent, from Friday at 20,720.29. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange finished 27.58 points, or 1.80 percent, lower at 1,505.88.

All industry categories lost ground, with major decliners including farm and fishery, iron and steel, and electric appliance issues.
