On Tuesday, President Donald Trump defended his sharing of a tweet that claimed President Bill Clinton and former First Lady Hillary Clinton were involved in the death of Jeffery Epstein

He told reporters, “The retweet … was from somebody that’s a very respected conservative pundit, so I think that was fine.”

The tweet was posted by comedian Terrence K. Williams and read:

Trump said that he had no clue if the Clintons, who he has long criticized, had anything to do with the suicide of the former financier. But he questioned the connection between the two and the number of times President Clinton was on Epstein’s plane.

On Friday, a federal appeals court unsealed more that 2,000 documents. Some of which included Epstein’s personal plane’s flight logs. The flight logs showed that Clinton had used it a number of times for the Clinton Foundation. They also showed that in 1997 Trump used the plane at least once.

On Saturday, Epstein was reported dead in his jail cell in a New York correctional facility, where he was awaiting trial for sex trafficking charges.

Clinton’s spokesman, Angel Ureña, told reporters last month that Clinton has never been to Epstein’s island, ranch or his house in Florida and has “not spoken to Epstein in well over a decade.”

Ureña also fired back at the president via tweet: “Ridiculous, and of course not true — and Donald Trump knows it. Has he triggered the 25th Amendment yet?”
