On Tuesday, August 20, 2019, Haagen-Dazs introduced a new product called "Murasaki Imo Tartelette". It is a new flavor in the Crispy Sandwich series and will be available for a limited time.
This product was based off of tartelettes, which are small French desserts. It is made with a heaping portion of murasaki imo (purple sweet potatoes), with murasaki imo wafers, murasaki imo coating, and murasaki imo sauce. It's a murasaki imo flavor explosion! In addition, it has a layer of richly eggy, custard ice cream inside so you can enjoy a luscious, autumnal flavor.

It's received positive comments online, such as "Super tasty!" and "Highly recommended!" so we decided to give it a try.
From the crispy wafers, to the crunchy coating, and smooth murasaki imo sauce and custard ice cream, everything is so good, it is just as you'd expect of Haagen-Dazs!
It is quite sweet as a whole, but the simple and comforting sweetness of the murasaki imo comes out clearly and elicits a sense of autumn approaching. At this time of the year, you tend to go for light and refreshing ice creams, but sweet and rich ice creams such as this one are wonderful as well.
