Trump Says ‘Corrupt’ Decision Process Is Preventing Him From Winning Nobel Peace Prize

Donald Trump & Kim Jong-un Meet At Historic Summit, Leaders Sign Joint Statement [FULL TEXT]

On Oct. 11, the Nobel Prize Committee will introduce the 2019 recipient, and President Donald Trump believes a “corrupt” decision-making process is preventing him from receiving the medal he deserves.

After a Pakistani journalist told Trump he would deserve the medal if he could ease decades-long tensions between India and Pakistan over the disputed territory of Kashmir, the President went off.

Trump said he believes the rigged process is the only thing standing between him and the award – not the other 301 candidates – 223 individuals and 78 organizations.

On Monday, Trump told the Pakistani press that the five-person Norwegian Selection Committee is biased and corrupt.

He claimed that Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and at least two Norwegian lawmakers nominated him for the medal. Trump believes his failed attempt at nuclear deal with Kim Jong-un  should earn him the honor.
