The Black Widow Trailer Is Here, Launching The MCU's Fourth Phase

Black Widow, the highly anticipated movie about the mysterious heroine, is finally here, and fans couldn’t be more excited.

At the last Comic-Con, Marvel announced that Black Widow will be getting her own film after appearing in seven MCU movies and, according to the trailer, it will hit theaters in May 2020.

Black Widow, whose name is actually Natasha Romanoff, is a character played by Scarlett Johansson. She has referred to the Avengers as her family throughout several movies, but until now, we had only gotten a handful of quick flashbacks about her origins.

In the trailer, we can see a family reunion complete with fighting scenes. “One thing’s for sure. It’s gonna be a hell of a reunion,” says Black Widow in the trailer’s voiceover.

Midsommar’s Florence Pugh will play Black Widow’s sister, Yelena Belova; Rachel Weisz will play Melina Vostokoff; and Stranger Things’ David Harbour will also be a part of the cast, playing Red Guardian.

As Pugh told Varietyin an interview earlier this year: “I think we’ve made something very raw and very painful and very beautiful and I think people are going to be really surprised by the outcome of a big action film having that much heart.”

Black Widow will reunite moviegoers and MCU fans with the tragic heroine, whose dramatic sendoff in Avengers: Endgamewas, for many, the movie’s most heart-wrenching scene and one of the highlights of an already emotional saga. Naturally, the reunion will be bittersweet because we will see the character again and learn more about her past and background, but it will be hard to push aside the fact that she is already gone in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Nevertheless, we are sure that the movie will be so action-packed and well told that we will be able to forget about reality for a couple of hours.

Who’s ready for more MCU in 2020? We know we are.
