Man, 76, killed in house fire identified by police

Authorities have identified the man killed in a house fireearly Tuesday in Florence.

Robert Comisky, 76, was found dead in the home on Amboy Avenue shortly after firefighters and police arrived around 2 a.m., police said.

Comisky’s adult daughter, who neighbors and his former wife said was his caregiver, suffered minor injuries but escaped from the home.

A person who lived in a rear apartment was also treated and released from a local hospital.

A neighbor told BurlingtonCountyTimes.com that Comisky had multiple sclerosisand used a wheelchair.

He remained active as a volunteer at Robbinsville Seventh-Day Adventist Community Church, 6abc.com reported. No one from the church could be reached by NJ Advance Media on Thursday morning.

Florence police said Thursday that here is nothing to indicate the fire is suspicious, though the investigation is ongoing.
