This time, the event will celebrate its 6th year running and feature 4 iconic Japanese entertainment brands that are popular overseas as well as in Japan! Universal Cool Japan is a special event that has been run by Universal Studios Japan every year since 2015. Throngs of visitors from Japan and abroad rush to the theme park each year to see this extravagant, once-a-year event that features Japan's most iconic manga, anime, and games.
2020 Will Feature 4 World-Popular Japanese Entertainment Brands
For the event's 6th year in 2020, it will feature 4 media franchises that are hugely popular both in Japan and around the world. Let's introduce them below one by one!
1. Attack on Titan
◆ "Attack on Titan XR Ride"Attack on Titan, which will be celebrating its 10-year-anniversary of starting serialization, will make make its appearance for the first time as an XR Ride. Put on a pair of VR goggles and see the terrifying world of Attack on Titan surround you on all sides as you are chased by life-sized Titans. Join the Scout Regiment and fly around freely while the speed and gravity of your flight are perfectly recreated by the ride. In this attraction, you can truly experience the exhilarating speed of battle in a way that only Attack on Titan can provide.

2. Detective Conan World
Detective Conan World, which allows you to enjoy the world of Conan from every conceivable angle, is evolving even further! This event will feature several Conan-themed attractions, including "Detective Conan - The Escape," in which you can solve mysteries along with Conan and the crew; "Detective Conan x Hollywood Dream - The Ride," a "story coaster" in which, for the first time, you can hear realistic voices and sounds during the ride while entering into the world of the story; "Detective Conan Mystery Challenge," a mystery-solving challenge that covers the whole park; and "Detective Conan Mystery Restaurant," a dining and mystery experience that will defy all expectations!

3. LUPIN THE 3rd
LUPIN THE 3rd made its Universal Cool Japan debut to a great amount of buzz, and this year, the world of Lupin will be recreated for the first time by the real cast in the form of a live street performance! You will be able to witness Lupin and his friends appear right before your eyes through stunts straight out of the show. You will get a ton of fun out of the experience of delving into the world of LUPIN THE 3rd along with the real Lupin and his friends!

4. Monster Hunter
Monster Hunter, the video game series that has inspired fervent enthusiasm all around the world, will take part in Universal Japan for the first time since 2018. The popular Monster Hunter World: Icebourne was released on September 6th as an extra-large expansion to Monster Hunter World, which quickly shipped around 2.8 million copies worldwide. This time, you will be able to enter the world of Icebourne and experience an exhilarating interactive hunting adventure using brand new high-tech VR technology. Look forward to jumping into the brand new world of Monster Hunter, which has been recreated for the first time using next-generation interactive technology!
