Rent the Runway on the move: subscription fashion service teams up with W Hotels

Rent the Runway is on the move. The luxury fashion subscription service has teamed up with W Hotels to make packing for vacation easier than ever.

The hotel chain is launching a ‘Rent the Runway (RTR) Closet Concierge' service at select locations throughout the US, including W Aspen, W South Beach, W Washington DC and W Hollywood. Guests will have access to items specifically curated by Rent the Runway with each destination in mind, meaning travelers can travel light, safe in the knowledge that their clothes will be waiting for them upon arrival.

W Hotel guests will be able to book the service for just $69 when reserving their room, choosing four styles to rent for the duration of their stay. They will have access to the entire Unlimited Closet, in addition to being able to select from an assortment tailored to each unique W hotel location, taking trending colors, designers, silhouettes and the climate of each location into consideration. The items are dropped off at the Welcome Desk upon check-out.

"Traveling without luggage has always been my dream," said Jennifer Hyman, Co-Founder and CEO of Rent the Runway, in a statement. "We are thrilled to partner with W Hotels to bring the RTR Closet Concierge to life, so travelers can simply show up and have their dream closet waiting for them in their hotel room."

"Collaborating with Rent the Runway -- such a creative, conscious and trend-setting brand -- allows us to reinvent the way our guests pack and dress as they travel," added Anthony Ingham, Global Brand Leader at W Hotels. "Skipping the packing process is a whole new level of luxury for our guests and is yet another surprising way continue to reinvent hospitality."

The concept is the latest in a string of big moves from Rent the Runway, which recently strengthened its ties with the department store chain Nordstrom to expand the number of locations allowing members to return items.
