Latest gen of Audi's SQ7 and SQ8 SUVs are coming to the US

Audi's Europe-exclusive SQ7 and SQ8 SUVs are now bound for the US market.

On Monday, Audi announced that the 500hp SQ7 and SQ8 high performance SUVs, previously sold only in Europe, are slated to hit the US market this year.

The SQ8 will find it's place in Audi's US vehicle portfolio between the flagship Q8 and the RS Q8, whereas the SQ7 will top the variant range of the Q7 SUV. Despite the difference in model types, both are equipped with a 4-liter, twin-turbocharged V8 engine that can deliver up to 500hp and 568 lb-ft of torque. Complemented by an eight-speed transmission and four-wheel-drive, this powertrain can push the vehicles from a standstill to 60mph in 4.3 seconds. Top speed measures in at 155mph.

Each comes as standard with all-wheel steering which allows the "rear wheels in the opposite direction of the front wheels to aid low-speed maneuverability and handling." This, along with electromechanical active roll stabilization, gives the models heightened stability no matter the terrain on which they're cruising.

To ensure driver comfort, the two models are equipped with sport seats with heating and ventilation finished in an S-exclusive cross-stitched leather.

The 2020 Audi SQ7 and SQ8 will hit US showrooms in late spring. Pricing will be announced closer to the on-sale date.
