IKEA Japanjoins the limited-edition spring product release this year with sakura-inspired menus available at the IKEA Restaurant and Caféfrom February 27 until April 19, 2020.
IKEA's iconic hot dog comes in a pink bun under a new name: Jumbo Sakura Dog(250 yen). The bun has the same flovor as usual. The only thing that changed is its color so that it visually fits the spring season.
During this season, IKEA also offers a dessert hot dog. The Spring Dog(250 yen) is made with the same pink bun but filled with whipped cream and zunda (sweetened green soybean paste) and decorated with a pickled cherry blossom. This dessert option was inspired by anpan(bread filled with sweetened red bean paste), a type of bread that is widely loved in Japan.
The only cherry-blossom-flavored item on the menu is the Sakura Sundae(250 yen). This delicate soft-serve dessert is topped with dango(sweet dumplings) and sweetened red bean paste.
