Chef Thomas Keller teaches his followers how to make vinaigrette on Insta

Chef Thomas Keller of The French Laundry and Per Se has joined the Instagram trend of celebrity chefs cooking under quarantine.

For his first cooking tutorial, the master chef is taking his fans back to the basics, with a simple recipe for at-home vinaigrette.

Fastidious recipe followers, be warned: Keller offers no measurements and says to simply use your intuition.

Ingredients for the basic vinaigrette include an egg yolk, mustard, oil, red wine vinegar and salt and pepper.

The recipe is the same for the salad dressing used at his Bouchon Bistro and Bouchon Bakery restaurants in New York, Las Vegas and Napa Valley, which are modeled after Parisian bistros.

In a second video, Keller shows viewers how to jazz up their basic vinaigrette with the punchy flavors of shallots and garlic, and fine herbs.
