Reality TV star Kristin Cavallari announced on Instagram on Sunday that she and her husband, former NFL quarterback Jay Cutler, are getting a divorce.

“With great sadness, after 10 years together we have come to a loving conclusion to get a divorce,” Cavallari wrote in the caption of a photo of the couple walking together. “We have nothing but love and respect for one another and are deeply grateful for the years shared, memories made, and the children we are so proud of.”

The caption continues, “This is just the situation of two people growing apart. We ask everyone to respect out privacy as we navigate this difficult time within our family.”

According to Tennessee court documents, Cutler filed for divorce on April 21, and in the paperwork said that the break up is due to “irreconcilable differences.” In his side of the divorce, it stated that he is the primary caretaker of the couples three young children. In Cavallari’s response filing, she cites “irreconcilable differences,” as well as “inappropriate marital conduct.” She also said that she wants to have primary custody of their children. Cavallari added that the real date of their separation is April 7.

There have been rumors that Cutler cheated on Cavallari with her best friend, but a source told People that those rumors have “absolutely nothing to do” with the divorce.

Cavallari, 33, first came into the public eye on the reality show, Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County in 2004, and she currently stars in her own reality show called Very Cavallari on E!. Cutler, 36, is a retired quarterback, who played for the Chicago Bears for most of his NFL career.
