Unnamed NFL Player Sues United Airlines, Saying He Was Sexually Assaulted On A Flight

An unnamed NFL player is suing United Airlines after he was allegedly  sexually harassed, assaulted, and violated by a female passenger while flying on the airway.

The alleged incident occurred back on February 10, where the NFL player and another male passenger claim that a woman sitting in their row made “unwanted sexual advances” and it took four complaints for the woman to be moved to a different seat. The player filed the against United is because the airline refused to give the name of the female passenger, as well as other possible witnesses. He charges that the airline did not follow the policies set forth for sexual harassment and assault.

According to the lawsuit, flight attendants were first alerted by the NFL player and the other male passenger when the woman appeared to be intoxicated and was being disruptive. They then notified flight attendants when the woman was massaging the NFL player’s thighs and knees and as the flight progressed, the advances continued and intensified as the woman removed the protective face mask the player was wearing and grabbed his genitals. This led to an outburst by the player that led him to leaving his seat and the woman ultimately being moved from her seat to another one on the plane.

In speaking with ABC News, United issued a statement, saying the safety of their passengers is their top priority. “The safety and well-being of our customers is always our top priority. In this instance, the customer involved was moved to a different seat. Because litigation is now pending, we’re unable to provide further comment.”

The lawsuit claims that United failed to take the proper steps necessary to protect its passengers and the airline gave the men $150 vouchers for their trouble.
