John Cena Gives $40,000 To Shad Gaspard’s Family After WWE Star’s Death

John Cena has reportedly donated $40,000 to Shad Gaspard’s family following the former WWE fighter’s death. Gaspard died earlier this month in Los Angeles while saving his son from a rip current.

Cena made his generous donation on the Gaspard family’s GoFundMe page. So far over $138,000 has been raised for the WWE star’s family.

Though Cena didn’t sign his name on the $40,000 donation, there have been multiple hints that he was the man behind this money. The donation was sent with the comment “CTC RIP.” “CTC” is likely a reference to a WWE faction called Crime Type Cenation which involved Cena, Gaspard and Jason Anthony Paul (JTG) in 2008.

TMZ speculated that Cena was the donor because he was “extremely close” with Gaspard. And Cena himself dropped a hint that he was behind the generous donation just a few days ago. He posted a throwback picture of himself, Gaspard, and JTG vandalizing a limousine with the letters “CTC” on Instagram.

Gaspard’s wife, Siliana, has paid tribute to her husband in multiple posts on Instagram. Her comment from last week read, “Shad was our whole world and we were his. There are not enough words to describe what he means to all of us. He was our heart, our soul, our protector, our warrior. He was a bright force of nature, who brought joy to many through his joyous and gracious nature. The outpouring of love from Shad’s friends, colleagues and fans has meant more to us than you can even imagine. We’d like to once again thank the lifeguards, coast guard, divers, fire and police departments for their efforts. Shad was and will always be our real life super hero. I love you more, my love.”
