Trump Wants To Prosecute Leaker Who Revealed He Hid In White House Bunker Amid George Floyd Protests

President Donald Trump demanded White House officials to find and prosecute the person who leaked information that he hid in an emergency bunker during the George Floyd protests outside White House on May 29.

During the anti-racism protests in Washington D.C., demonstrators crowded near White House, chanting George Floyd‘s name and throwing fireworks. Trump and his family hid in the bunker beneath White House and the lights went off in the whole Oval Office building. Trump was taken to the bunker as a precaution by the Secret Service.

The next day, Trump gave a speech at White House Rose Garden, threatening to deploy “thousands and thousands” of active military troops to the city, calling in for more “law and order.” He then walked to the St. John Church for now-infamous Bible photo-op. Law enforcement forcibly cleared out Lafayette Square in front of the church off of the peaceful protestors with rubber bullets and tear gas.

Trump later denied hiding in the bunker, telling Fox News Radio he was there “inspected” it.

“I was there for a tiny, short little period of time,” Trump said. “They said it would be a good time to go down and take a look because maybe sometime you’re going to need it.”
