Tom Brady Continues To Workout With Buccaneers Teammates Despite Rise In COVID-19 Cases In Florida

Tom Brady #12 of the New England Patriots

Despite two players on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers recently testing positive for COVID-19, that has not prevented Tom Brady from holding large group workouts with his new Buccaneer teammates.

Brady signed with the Buccaneers back in March after 20 years with the New England Patriots. Almost immediately after signing with Tampa Bay, Brady could be seen practicing with his teammates as NFL facilities were not open for players to practice in. These groups have gotten larger and larger as time has gone on.

These Brady-led practices have been criticize by Floridians, as the state has seen a spike in positive cases for the virus in the month of June as the state has slowly opened back up.

On Monday, the NFL Players Association Medical Director issued a statement, in which he urged players to stop these large group workouts. “Please be advised that it is our consensus medical opinion that in light of the increase in COVID-19 cases in certain states that no players should be engaged in practicing together in private workouts,” he said.

It is unclear as to whether or not the players participating in these workouts are practicing proper social distancing as well as other preventative coronavirus measures, but images released have shown that might not be the case.
