Amazon has pledged $2 billion in green tech. The Seattle-based firm has announced their Climate Pledge Fund, which will see them provide entrepreneurs and innovators with the money they need to create sustainable and environmentally-friendly tech. CEO Jeff Bezos said: "The Climate Pledge Fund will look to invest in the visionary entrepreneurs and innovators who are building products and services to help companies reduce their carbon impact and operate more sustainably. "Companies from around the world of all sizes and stages will be considered, from preproduct startups to well-established enterprises. "Each prospective investment will be judged on its potential to accelerate the path to zero carbon and help protect the planet for future generations." At the top end of the year, Bezos revealed he was planning to spend a total of $10 billion on various environmental causes and supporting scientists and no-profit organisations. Amazon also has the $100 million Right Now Climate Fund, which helped fund two large-scale reforestation projects. What's more they have also reduced carbon footprint by cutting back their outbound packaging by 33 per cent.
