Prince William and Prince Harry have split their mother’s memorial fund despite Prince Harry’s exit from the royal family. Financial documents that were singed at the end of 2019 in December reveal that the money in the fund will go between the Royal Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Sussex Royal fund.

The year end Royal Family Foundation’s financial statements reported on December 31, 2019, “On 18 December 2019, an agreement was signed with the Sussex Royal Foundation by which The Royal Foundation intended to grant half of the net future proceeds received by the Diana Fund to Sussex Royal. In March 2020 The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced that they would no longer be operating Sussex Royal as their primary philanthropic vehicle in the UK and accordingly their share of the net income will instead be donated to another charity of The Duke of Sussex’s choosing.”

Prince Harry has chose for the money to be put into Sentebale, a charity in that helps victims of AIDS and those suffering from poverty in countries such as Lesotho, Botswana and Malawi.

The financial reports also stated that the The Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund gave £21,346 to the Royal Foundation. In addition to this, £145,000 was said to be give to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry in an unrestricted grant as well as another £100,000 as a restricted grant to Prince Harry in order to fund his sustainable tourism non-profit titled Travalyst.

The Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund was taken over by the Royal Foundation in 2013 and was for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry. However, the fund no longer actively raises money, but does continue to receive some legacies and donations.
