Robert Unanue, the CEO of Goya Foods, was invited to the White House on Thursday and made remarks praising President Donald Trump

During the event, Trump signed the Hispanic Prosperity Initiative, an effort for greater educational and economic opportunities for the Hispanic community.

Goya is a staple in Latino households, and Unanue was invited as the CEO of the brand popular among Hispanic people. He was asked to address his remarks when he started to praise Trump.

“We are all truly blessed to have a leader like President Trump, who is a builder,” Unanue said. “And so we have an incredible builder. And we pray. We pray for our leadership, our president, and we pray for our country, that we will continue to prosper and to grow.”

The hashtag #Goyaway and #BoycottGoya are now trending on social media following his speech in Rose Garden.

Following the report, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-New York) also revealed that she’d boycott Goya.

“Oh look, it’s the sound of me Googling how to make your own Adobo,” she tweeted.

On Thursday, Unanue announced that he would donate one million cans of Goya chickpeas and one million other food products to American food banks to help those hurt by COVID-19 pandemic.
