The first major college football preseason poll is out, and Clemson is ranked No. 1.

The Tigers sit atop the USA Today coaches preseason top 25, which was released on Thursday.

Ohio State, Clemson’s opponent in last year’s Fiesta Bowl, is ranked No. 2. The rest of the top five consists of No. 3 Alabama, No 4. Georgia and No. 5 LSU.

Clemson is scheduled to play a pair of preseason top 25 teams in 2020, with both games being played on the road.

The Tigers will play at No. 10 Notre Dame on Nov. 7 and at No. 24 Virginia Tech on Dec. 5.

Clemson could also face No. 19 North Carolina in the ACC championship game. Tigers opponents receiving votes in the poll include Miami, Virginia and Pitt.
