Pokémon Go will soon be ending support for older iOS and Android devices

Pokémon Go will soon be ending support for older iOS and Android devices.

The popular mobile game will be getting an update in mid-October, and the new update will mean that mobile devices running Android 5.0 or iOS 10 or 11 will no longer be able to run the game.

The game also won't be able to be played on the iPhone 5S and iPhone 6, according to The Pokémon Go Twitter account.

Niantic has defended the decision, and have told The Verge that this will only impact "a very small percentage of daily active players,"

Niantic also told The Verge: "iPhone 5S and 6 have just 1 GB of RAM, and we don't want to hold back development and implementation of features for the vast majority of players who have more robust phones".
