Limited edition $3,299 Galaxy Z Fold 2 wanted by 230,000 Koreans

A whopping 230,000 people in Korea have signed up to enter a draw to buy the $3,299 Galaxy Z Fold 2 Thom Browne edition.

The limited run of the device which has been designed in partnership with the fashion brand has seen people flock in the thousands to be in with the chance of owning the smartphone, according to local reports.

Samsung only has 5,000 units available, with South Korea only getting 1,000 units.

Those who wanted to pre-order the phone had to sign up by September 8, and if they make the 1,000, they'll get their hands on the in-demand device on September 25.

The Thom Browne Edition has already sold out in Thailand.

Meanwhile, Samsung is reportedly developing the first budget foldable smartphone.

Despite the issues they had with their first foldable device, the Galaxy Fold, which had to be delayed because of issues with its screen, the South Korean firm is pressing on with the range.

And now, a report by SamMobile has indicated that they are hard at work on making a foldable that is affordable.

The details include the model number SM-F415, with the F seemingly suggesting it's a foldable phone.

It's looking likely to join the Galaxy Z lineup.

What's more, the cheaper foldable will come with 64GB and 128GB storage and will likely resemble the Galaxy Z Flip opposed to the Fold.

There's no indication of how much the affordable foldable will cost, but the Z Flip is priced at around $1,380 (£1,300).
