Ex-NiP AWPer draken joins top Swedish Valorant team Bonk The former NIP AWPer joins Swedish team less than a month after being announced on Inferno's roster

Bonk, one of Europe's most prominent Valorant teams, has announced the acquisition of former Ninjas in Pyjamas AWPer William "draken" Sundin.

After less than a month of playing for Team Inferno with underwhelming results, draken will be taking a step up by joining one of Europe's most successful teams. Ranked third in the region in the official Valorant rankings, Bonk has emerged as a dominant force in the scene. Despite not boasting any major tournament victories to its name, Bonk has finished as the runners-up in the Ignition Series hosted LVL Clas 2 and Mandatory.gg Cup tournaments.

Adding draken is great news for Bonk, as the team was left shorthanded earlier this month after the duo of Aron "xajdish" Fredriksson and Saif "Sayf" Jibraeel left the team together with their coach Emil "eMIL" Sandgren, with the latter moving to European rival NiP.

Despite having a strong start to his Valorant career, with victories at the G2 Esports European Brawl and Twitch Rivals: VALORANT Launch Shodown EU, draken's rise in Riot's FPS has stagnated of late. The veteran Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player has failed to secure a top-four finish in his last four tournaments. His fortunes might yet change as he joins a fully-Swedish team that has proven itself on Valorant's biggest stages.

With draken's addition, Bonk has one spot left to fill on its roster. Although its roster is still incomplete, the team is still ranked third in the official Valorant rankings. Despite its accomplishments, the team was not invited to play in the BLAST Twitch Invitational and is revamping its roster for the next wave of Valorant tournaments as it hunts for a sponsor. The fifth player for Bonk has yet to be revealed at this time.

Bonk current roster:

  • Malkolm "bonkar" Rench
  • Yacine "Yacine" Laghmari
  • Leo "ziz" Jannesson
  • William "draken" Sundin
