New Tracer's Comic Challenge event arrives in Overwatch New sprays, new skin, new lore.

A surprise event was announced today for Overwatch called Tracer’s Comic Challenge, which includes comic-themed sprays and a Tracer skin.

The flagship character has received her own comic-themed skin that was released alongside a new comic for the character named “Tracer: London Calling.” The event runs from September 15 to 28 and includes two ways to earn some comic-themed loot.

The first is through in-game challenges where players must win three, six, and nine matches, which can be played in Quick Play, Competitive, or Arcade. At the third and sixth win, players will be rewarded with a spray. At the ninth win, a Legendary skin will be unlocked for Tracer.

The skin has comic-themed leggings for Tracer, a pink and blue top, and pink shoes. Tracer’s hair has been changed to a slightly more subdued look and has also changed her hair color to white and dons pink goggles.

Besides winning matches, fans can watch their favorite streamers to earn even more rewards. Sprays will be awarded when a viewer hits two, four, and six hours of Twitch stream viewership. A total of three sprays can be gained this way.

The new Tracer-themed comic is set five years after the ratification of the Petras Act, which disbanded Overwatch. Tracer is serving the community as a part-time hero when she meets an omnic called Iggy who shows her the terrible living conditions forced upon omnics. Tracer begins to help them, but also puts her reputation on the line by doing so.

Patch notes were also released with a few bug fixes, a new season of competitive 3v3 Lockout Elimination, and some Workshop updates. Ranked leaver penalties have also been made more severe and will lead to a season-long ban more quickly.

It has been a long while since fans have received Overwatch lore, mainly due to the development of Overwatch 2, which still has no set release date. There has been some speculation that fans may have to wait until early 2021 to get any information about the sequel.
